The managed Solr experience with SaaS Web
Per default, a subdomain of saasweb.net will be used to connect to the instance using the SaaS Web SSL certificate. If you desire, an own domain or sudomains can be setup with the adequate SSL certificate.

Detailed information about Solr and Lucene
Solr is a servlet included in Lucene for containers such as Apache Tomcat. Solr was developped by CNET and first called Solar. The name was an acronym of Search on Lucene and Resin.
